When you keep encountering an SD card error when you are at the start or in the middle of downloading a file/app from Navigation Updater, you can take the following measures.
If the SD card error occurs as follows, please check your SD card or card reader first:
- Symptom: Fail to format a removable storage device, “An error occurred while formatting”
- Cause/Measures to take
- The error happens when an SD is not available for reading or writing.
First, check the location of a Lock switch on the left side of the SD card. If the switch is in the right place, check if it is formatted on a PC.
If your SD card is damaged, you have to replace the SD card with a new one.
In some cases, it might be a problem with an SD card reader or SD card slot embedded in a PC.
Thus, it would be better to try with another SD card reader (or other USB port) if you have one before replacing the SD card in question.
